My name is Abdelmalek BENMEZIANE, I am 24 years old and I have a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene with a specialization in computer science and currently i'm pursuing a master degree in bioinformatics. During my studies, I acquired skills in development and programming, notably using languages such as Python, Java, and HTML/CSS and I had the opportunity to work on several projects, including my final project of studies. The latter focused on the development and implementation of a website on immigration to Canada for Algerians, which allowed me to familiarize myself a little with web programming and acquire skills in this area.

In this project we are interested in the parallelization of state-of-the-art algorithms in bioinformatics. Among these algorithms we are interested in the following algorithms: Smith-waterman for local alignment of their DNA sequences.
